Girls Varsity Softball vs. Souhegan HS School

The Cougars took the field in Souhegan today for their first game of the season (and second day outside). A rough way to start with a 16-3 loss after just 5 innings. The Cougars were able to get 2 runners in scoring position in the top of the first inning with Rachyl Parslow's double, Natalia Hautanen's walk, and both advancing on a passed ball. Unfortunately, the inning ended with a 3rd out strike out. Not much offensive action for the cougars in the second with just one hit before the side was retired. The Cougars scored two runs in the 3rd when Eliza Fiore walked, Rachyl Parslow blasted a single up the 3rd base line, and Natalia Hautanen hit a 2 run single line drive to right field. Eliza Fiore scored in the 5th to round out the 3 runs on the day.

Rachyl Parslow was 2-3 with a double, single, and run scored. Natalia Hautanen was 2-2 with a walk, pair of singles, and all 3 Cougar RBI's. Eliza Fiore scored 2 runs and Hayley Cheviot went 2-3 with 2 singles.

Jaden Hubbard-Lemay took the mound for the Cougars going 3 innings, striking out 1 and allowing 8 hits and 5 walks. Elizabeth Nute pitched the 4th allowing 4 hits and 5 runs while striking out 1. The Cougars defense struggled at times giving up extra outs with 9 total errors.
