The JV Cougars continued their hot, successful start to the season Friday night at Kingswood with a 67 to 52 win on the road to improve to 4-0 on the season. 

Will Theriault scored 11 of his 15 points in the first quarter to give the Cougars a big first quarter jump. They scored 26 points in the quarter for a season high. A shady, effort-lacking second quarter brought them to half time with only a two point lead.

Owen Collins put his coaching on the floor mind to work and suggested going to a 2-3 zone just minutes into the 3rd quarter. This allowed the Cougars to keep Kingswood out of the paint, get rebounds, and run the transition game they excel at.

Malachi Page came out on a rebounding tear having 6 rebounds in the first 3 minutes of the third quarter. Malachi, Erich Clarke, Emerson Craven, and Alex Heck all did a great job collecting rebounds and moving the ball up the floor for easy fast break buckets.

Austin Knight led the big third quarter charge with two huge three's while attacking the basketball aggressively going 6/6 on his free throws in the quarter. Austin netted 12 of his game high 18 points in the third. Owen Michaels also looked to be aggressive with his offense chipping in 7 points. Malachi had 8 and Emerson finished with 6.

The Cougars have their biggest game of the year, at home against Hollis-Brookline, this Tuesday night, January 8th starting at 5pm. Come support the team!
