Score

BOW HIGH SCHOOL: 9

ConVal Girl’s Tennis lost all lines to Bow at home on Friday, April 5th.  Bow, the defending Division III Girl’s Tennis Champion, won 9-0.

Julia Peters played valliently against Bow’s #1 player Olivia Parzich but lost 4-8.  Parzich’s top-spin and strong serve had Julia making more unforced errors than usual.

Catrina Kipka had some great points against #2 Emma Conley, coming into net serval times and showing her strong serve.  In the end, Catrina lost 2-8.

Zoe Werth played in her first match of the season at #3 singles but lost 0-8 to Lauren Goyette, who seemed to run down everything and had a lot of low, fast balls over the net.

Eva Calcutt lost 2-8 in her match against Isabelle Dolcino, and both Lena LaFleur and Jill Karlicek lost 3-8 against their respective opponents.

Julia and Eva played #1 doubles against Olivia and Emma, losing 4-8.  Eva had some great volleys at the net and Julia used her powerful forehand as much as possible but they were out-strategized.

Catrina and Zoe owned the most exciting match of the day, overcoming a 2-6 deficit but eventually losing 5-8.  They turned on the heat late with some excellent volleying, lobs and deep shots.

Lena played in the #3 doubles spot with Sandra MacKay.  They lost 2-8 but had some bright spots in Lena’s serving and Sandra’s volleys.

ConVal Girl’s Tennis plays away on Monday @ Coe-Brown Northwood and will be back home again on Wed., April 10th, vs. Bishop-Brady.
