ConVal Girl’s Tennis beat Milford on Thursday 6-3 at Keyes Park in Milford.  The girls dodged some raindrops early on, but they didn’t last and the sun actually came out for a few minutes here and there.

Both #1 and #2 singles players, Julia Peters and Catrina Kipka, lost in good matches 5-8 and 4-8 respectively.  Both had late surges adding a couple of games to their overall game total, but eventually lost in matches with lots of exciting points and running down balls.

With usual #3 Zoe Werth out for the day, Eva Calcutt played #3 and won 8-3.  Lena LaFleur won 8-5 and both Jill Karlicek and Sandra MacKay won their singles matches 8-0, rounding out positions 4 - 6.

Julia Peters and Catrina Kipka turned on the heat for #1 doubles, winning handily 8-4.  There were lots of hard-hit, well-placed shots, great volleys and good communication on the part of the ConVal team.  Both Peters and Kipka came off the court feeling better about their days!

Eva Calcutt and Lena LaFleur played #2 doubles and won 8-1 against less-experienced opponents while Jill Karlicek and Sandra MacKay lost 1-8 against the Milford team.

ConVal finishes their season at home on Friday with a double-header.  They are currently 5-7.
