After a well-played but disappointing loss to Hollis-Brookline on Wednesday, the Griffins made it clear to the Indians that they came to play hockey Saturday night. Less than two minutes into the first period, Evan Turner collected a pass from Logan Favart, broke through the Indians defense, and scored the Griffins first goal. Fifty seconds later, in the same shift, Turner scored his second of four goals. On the next shift, just over a minute later, Quinn Mose struck a third time for the Griffins. Suddenly down 3-0 in less than three minutes, the Indians called a time-out to regroup. It helped, and the Indians were able to gain some control in their own end and the neutral zone. But with just under 6 minutes left in the first period, Preston Kirby found the back of the net with an assist from Turner. Perhaps feeling a little over-confident, the Griffins turned over the puck in the neutral zone, and the Indians capitalized with a 2 on 1 and beat goaltender Cole Turner for their first goal of the game. The Indians gathered some steam from the goal, but were not able to penetrate the Griffins defense again in the period, and in the last minute of the period, the line of Turner, Favart, and Aidan King went to work. Turner picked up a pass from King, drove around the zone and rifled a shot at the Indian's goaltender who left a big rebound for Favart, and he tucked it home. Turner immediately won the resulting face off at center ice, danced around the defense, and buried his third on the night. 

Up 6-1 at the end of the first, the Griffins made some line up adjustments and came out solid in the second period. Each team picked up a single goal in the second; Quinn Mose worked his silky-mitt magic and put up his second unassisted goal of the night. 

Turner picked up his fourth goal early in the third, and Kirby netted his second with an assist from Mose. The third period was more physical than the first, each team drawing two penalties, including a roughing call on the Indians when they laid a big hit on Freshman Tanyan Scott. The Indians managed one final goal late in the third bringing the final score to 9-3. 

Great defensive play was contributed by all four of the Griffins blue liners; Elias Niemela who rushed the puck well; James Coburn, also penetrating deep into the Indians zone followed by fierce backchecking; Leo Lacroix and Owen Yeaw. Goaltender Cole Turner made 24 saves on 27 shots.

The Griffins travel to Laconia on Wednesday 2/19, and are home again Saturday 2/22 against John Stark-Hopkinton, in what is sure to be a very physical, very fast, exciting game.
