Good evening,

   The Cougars took the field tonight against Pembroke at Adams Playground in Peterborough behind the pitching of Junior Kendall Sullivan who struck out the first 4 batters, as one reached on a dropped 3rd strike. The Cougars pounced on the ball as lead-off hitter Samantha Henderson hit a single, Mary Hulslander reached on a bunt single, and Morgan Bemont hit a double to plate both. Lily Mandel walked, Sullivan reached on a fielder's choice, Mackenzie Anderson hit a double, and Julielle Cabana hit a single plating both Sullivan and Anderson. Mairin Burgess also hit a single before the inning ended! In the second Sullivan gave up a hit to shallow center and struck out 3. The Cougars attacked again as Henderson hit a single, Bemont reached on a hit to shortstop, and Mandel hit a deep sacrifice fly to right field plating both Henderson and Bemont. The Cougars gave up 2 runs in the 4th and 2 in the 5th before scoring 2 more for themselves in the 6th on a Cabana Single, Burgess Single and Avery Moore double to right plating Cabana and Burgess. Pembroke scored one in the 7th but the Cougars captured the 8-5 victory!

      Leading the offense was Samantha Henderson who was 3-4 with 2 singles, a double and 2 runs and Julielle Cabana 2-3 with 2 singles, 2 RBI, and a run. Mairin Burgess also went 2-3 on the night with 2 singles and a run. Morgan Bemont had a double, RBI, and a run. 

     Kendall Sullivan got the win, pitching 5 innings, facing 24 batters allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, 2 walks, and striking out 11. Lily Mandel came on in relief pitching 2 innings, facing 8 batters allowing 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 1.
