6-2 Loss; Much Closer than the Score Indicates

On Wednesday 1/15 the Griffins lost 6-2 to the Hopkinton-Stark Hawks in a game that was much closer than the score shows. The Hawks scored twice in the first, but late in the period Griffins Captain Evan Turner sent a missle past the Hawks tendy to cut their lead in half.

With outstanding goaltending from Cole Turner, and strong defensive efforts from Elias Niemela, James Coburn, Braden Crisp, and Leo Lacroix, the Griffins held Stark to one goal in the second period.

Evan Turner struck again midway into the third period, to bring the lead down to one, but Stark answered less than a minute later with their fourth goal.

The Hawks were very physical, double-teaming Turner, and putting both James Coburn and Logan Favart out of the game. The Hawks were able to capitalize on the Griffins shortened bench and net their 5th and 6th goals.

Props go to the Griffins own solid physical play from Captain Preston Kirby and Quinn Mose.
